Wedding Ideas Awards 2014 - We Only Went & Won!
There is just the slightest chance you haven't already heard us shouting about it, so here we go again - we were (still are!) over the moon to win 'best special touches' at the Wedding Ideas Awards in January! We found out at the end of last year that you lovely lot had voted us to the top 5. Being a relatively new company of only two years, this in itself was just amazing, champagne worthy, news to us. For it to be down to the customer vote makes it most special.
The award ceremony was held at the fantastic Tower Hotel in London. We went along excited, ready to have a good time and meet some great people, and arriving at the venue, with its red carpet and illuminated LOVE sign, we knew we were in for a treat! When we got inside we were greeted with bubbly, a giraffe shaped vodka luge and butlers in the buff... Yep, it was definitely going to be a good one...
It was then down to a panel of industry expert judges to decide on their winner from the top 5. After a yummy three course dinner the announcements began... We had been seated right at the back, which I took as a sign that the winner wasn't us; I sat back and relaxed, just thinking how fab it was to even be there.
And then our name was called! My colleague Jude had to nudge me sharply to remind me to walk up as I was just sitting there with my hands over my mouth! We are still on cloud 9 after winning our very first award. Thank you so much, judges, for voting for us, and thank you wonderful customers for taking the time to vote for us too. You really have made our year, and it's only just started!
As you can imagine the night accelerated with a mass of dancing, drinking and general celebrating! The Slomo Booth was a highlight - you can see from their video and the photo of our Jude below that the night was something special. We met some wonderful people in this great industry (do check out the other winners here). Thank you again Wedding Ideas for putting on such a fantastic night - one I will remember forever! Now, how long do we have to wait until next year...?
