Handmade Heaven, Milly & Rob

Oh I have a treat to share with you today... The gorgeous Milly first got in touch to order her Love is Sweet stationery from us. She was planning a pretty pastel, English country affair with cream tea, cakes and lots of floral bunting, so this design fitted perfectly! Milly is the lady behind the beauty blog Pearl & Poodles; we'd worked together at Accessorize HQ a few years ago. I recognised her name when her order came through but she hadn't realised that Wedding in a Teacup was my baby! We both had a 'wow, what a small world' moment; it was lovely to catch up during such an exciting time for her... Milly and Rob tied the knot in Chelmsford, Essex, on the 19th of July this year. Milly had been putting little peeks of her preparation on her Instagram, so I already knew it was going to be something special...

Milly explains “We wanted to make our wedding completely unique and reflect our personalities (and love for pizza) in every aspect – relaxed, fun and creative. Our main inspiration for the day was to create a pretty, homemade wedding with every little detail loving created, sourced or baked by ourselves or close families and friends. We wanted to take on as much as the creative graft as possible so we had complete ownership and could look back and say ‘together, we did that’."

With so many pretty details it's hard to know where to start! They presented coloured paper straws in old-style milk bottles, had big balloons adorned with pretty tassels, jugs of freshly cut flowers and chalkboards with hand-written messages dotted throughout...

“For the wedding favours we made our own homemade preserves for the guests to take away with them and help “Spread the Love” during their lazy weekend breakfasts or summer picnics. We made Spicy plum chutney for the boys and a sweet strawberry and rose jam for the girls." They filled over 200 jam jars and decorated them with our personalised spread the love labels, then topped them off with left-over fabric from the home-sewn bunting. I adore how they've displayed them - transforming an old Welsh Dresser into a gorgeous statement piece...
