Love Is Sweet

Wedding and cake have been together for ever. In medieval times, biscuits, cakes and scones would be piled high for the newlyweds to kiss over. It was believed that the taller the pile, the greater prosperity they'd have. Legend has it that a French chef visiting the court of Charles II was so appalled by these untidy, messy mounds that he created the iced, multi-tiered cake and set a new fashion.

Now towers of cupcakes have moved trends on again - I wanted to design some light-hearted stationery to celebrate the rise of the cupcake. Not little girl cupcakes but delectable edible sophisticated cakes that imply pure indulgence and sweet, sweet pleasure! Frosted, creamy, mouth-watering pink and sage green, playful, quirky and absolutely joyous ……
